Hey guys! Today I have another video game topic for you. Do you like SimCity 2013? if so, what are its biggest pros and cons and should I get it?
From youtube videos and blogs, I have been able to determine that there are many things wrong with the game currently, including bugs, utterly small city sizes, weird zone development, and high price for what you get, and crappy servers that almost never let you in, along with the extremely irritating thing that EA has done, perhaps the most annoying. It is the fact that you ALWAYS HAVE TO BE ONLINE TO PLAY. This really stinks, because I am often on camping trips and such, where I have been offline most of the time, so SimCity 4 on my laptop has proven its worth. I'm sure most of you are wondering: why does EA require you to be online all the time with this game? Well, the answer is simple and is for the same reason that they have done many other things that irritated lots of fans of the games they publish: They want you to always be online so you will buy something like an item pack from their store to progress with the game. I'm not kidding, if you have origin (EA's somewhat trashy DRM service, like steam), all you have to do for the proof is search (simcity) in the store and find that the packs with ferris wheels and such cost about $10 EACH. Sadly, this is very true. EA is very greedy, along with having sh***y customer service, in case there is something wrong with your game, do not expect EA to help.
I really hope that this game gets patches to fix bugs, bigger maps, an offline mode, and a lowered price. These are simply the four things that need to be executed for this game in order to make it worth buying or at least putting it on my list for Christmas.
So to conclude this blog, I just wanted to ask you guys whether you like the game or not and for what reasons, and if you know of anything EA or Maxis will do in the future to improve this game (I read on the video game news that Maxis is looking into an offline mode for SimCity 2013). Bye, and if you have anything to say, don't be afraid to tell me what you think!
