Top 5 Best Arcade Games for Android!

Hey guys, how's it going? Today I've got another top 5 list for you! This time I'll be listing and talking about what I think are the 5 best arcade games on android. This list also won't be in order.

A couple of honorable mentions that I considered but didn't make the list in the end are Jetpack Joyride and Fruit Ninja. This was because both games are already very well known by pretty much everyone, and Fruit Ninja implemented the star fruit system that I thought was a terrible idea.
So without further ado, let's get started!

Smashy Road: Wanted

Price: Free (In-App Purchases)

If you're into android gaming or even if you aren't, there's a good chance you've heard of this game. Basically, you drive a car across the map and try to avoid being captured by cops and dying. The game is pretty exhilarating and fun, and has a ton of replay value. There's lots of different cars to unlock through random drops, and if you're super lucky you might get a legendary car which gives you a special advantage, like being able to move much faster or earning money to buy drops 5x as fast. It's free to play, and you can purchase any car you want with money, but it's by no means required to enjoy the game. If you're into high-octane arcade games, then this is your game for sure!

Smash Hit

Price: Free (In-App Purchases)

Next on the list is smash hit which is a 'smashing' good game! This one is one of my personal favorites, and that's why it's on this list. The premise of the game is that you are flying through a level, and have to throw balls at the pieces of glass in front of you to break them so that you can keep progressing. You only have a limited number of balls, and every time you run into a piece of glass or a wall you lose 10 of them. The game is a blast to play and is fantastic for passing time, but the main reason why I like it is because it's an original idea that was implemented extremely well. In Smash Hit, the graphics are beautifully simplistic and blend together seamlessly with the surreal sound design as well. Mediocre games is an example of a mobile game developer that knows what they're doing, since they have several apps that are absolutely fantastic, including this, Granny Smith, and Does not Commute. The game is totally free to play, but you can buy a premium package for $2 that includes a few more game modes and the ability to play from checkpoints you've reached, which in my opinion is worth the price. Anyway, Smash Hit is an interesting arcade game that is you shouldn't miss by any means!

Bejeweled

Another one of my personal favorite arcade games is Bejeweled. By now I'm sure you know what this game is and how to play it, but I'll clarify here anyway. Basically, you have to match similarly colored gems in rows or columns of 3 or more to get rid of them and earn points, and you can make specialty gems by matching 4, 5, or 6 gems at once. The game features pretty average graphics, but has pretty decent music and sound design. The gameplay is also very addicting and will entertain you for hours and hours. The game has Classic mode, where you keep matching to gain points until you eventually run out of moves, Zen mode, where you endlessly match gems, and Diamond Mine, where you try to match gems to break through the ground and find stuff like gold, diamonds and treasure. Out of these, Diamond Mine is the one that I've had the most fun and entertainment with, because it's intense and will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time! The biggest issue I have with this game is that on Android, there are a lot less game modes than on iPhone and iPad, which have butterfly, lightning, and a few other ways to play that add diversity to the game. However, the game does cost $1 on iTunes, while on Google Play it's free, so that's a good thing. Overall, if you're looking for an awesome game to kill time, you can't go wrong with this classic!

Temple Run 2

Another one of the best arcade games ever released on Android, Temple Run 2 is a game where you steal an idol from a cave and have to run away from a giant monster, while constantly avoiding lots of different obstacles. This is another game that I'm sure you've heard of, as it has 500 million downloads! I can assure you that after playing, you'll know exactly why this game has had so much success. The gameplay is very simple; all you have to do is swipe the screen to perform different actions, like swiping down to slide, or swiping left or right to turn. This is a game that I spent hundreds of hours playing, and I can guarantee that when you try it out, the same will happen to you! Seriously, Temple Run 2 is an absolutely fantastic game to play when you get bored, and that's why it easily made the list.

One More Dash

The final game on this list is none other than One More Dash, a very simplistic arcade game that is just as addicting as the others. The premise of the game is extremely simple; you are an orb, and you tap to dash to other locations while trying not to run into the barriers and spiked barriers surrounding them. The graphics are minimalist and nice-looking, the soundtrack is excellent and the gameplay is simple and easy to pick up. There's lots of different themes that you can unlock by playing which change the color of the background and dash locations. The game is totally free to play, but you can optionally pay $2 to remove all ads. In my opinion it's not worth it because the ads are so few and far between and non-obtrusive, but the money will also be supporting the developers to make more awesome games like this. If simple time-wasters are your thing, then this game will be absolutely perfect for you!

Well, that'll be it for this top 5, and I hope you enjoyed!

And with that, I'll see you guys later!
